DRIVING UP THE HWY - THE ONLY OTHER VEHICLE ON THE ROAD WAS THE GARBAGE TRUCK GOING TO THE DUMP

As soon as it stopped snowing we headed up the highway - ...In some places it was mostly frozen icy crystals on trees and not a lot of snow on the ground.  Rim Hwy always gets the coldest temps as winds and snow blow across into the communities.  I love getting out as quick as possible when fortunately there is not enough snow on the roads to make it where you have to wait for a plow.  A little higher up as we went along there was more snow but in these photos it was still easy driving.  We didn't try to go higher than Arrow Bear because a part where they call the road/hwy .."Artic Circle" definitely was requiring chains.

This is just photos along a quick pass through Sky Forest area where Skypark/Santas Village is.  They have cleared a lot of trees making for a bigger parking lot.  Sky Park has become extremely popular over the last three years when it was reopened into a beautiful mountain destination place.

A COUPLE WEEKS AGO WE HAD A LATE SNOW

I posted a few pics in a prior post and these are the rest of them.  I always love  seeing SkyPark (The old Santa's Village) in Sky Forest during all four seasons.  We went down into the parking lot so I could get some close up pics of the building which I love.  They have lots of things to do there  for kids and adults.  Recently they opened a many acre bike path that other than winter is open all year long.

Sky Park use to be Santa's Village and I believe it opened about the same time Disneyland did years ago.  It then sat vacant for several years and reopened as Sky Park a few years ago.  We left this area and then drove to a neighborhood I like to drive through in Sky Forest.

ANOTHER HOUSE FROM YESTERDAY'S DRIVE THROUGH SKY FOREST

I wish the photos were better - Camera just couldn't do it good - it's getting old, poor thing - I have used and abused it much.

I was hoping no one was home and could see me photographing their house but this was too good to pass up  Looks like it belongs in a fairy tale.  I think when people live in fairytale houses they are just asking to have their photograph taken.  I would love to meet the garden gnomes that probably live here.

SKY FOREST SNOW

Today, although we didn't get snow during the night all the upper towns did, so we headed out to see how much they got.  No town had that much but we didn't get up to Running Springs or Big Bear and they probably got 4" or more.

Here is a beautiful house in Sky Forest that I took a few photos of.  My good camera broke about six or seven months ago and now my second best camera is showing signs of old age.  I've noticed the quality is getting harder to edit to make them look okay.  I am really hard on cameras because I take so many photos and use my zoom a lot.
