The last time we were in Washington was spring of 2019. My son and his family live there and since Covid we haven't been there as I don't want to wear a mask on an airplane and other reasons as well. Anyway I'm missing them but also Gig Harbor which is about a half hour from their place. There are so many beautiful small coastal towns. I was looking through photos the other day and thought I would post a few to remind me that I need a trip there - even if it is a long road trip minus the cat - whatever will I do with her, sigh.

SOMETIMES - IT'S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT THE PORCH BUT WHAT SURROUNDS IT
On one of our trips to Gig Harbor, Washington, I made sure to photograph some houses with unique front yards or porches and terrific views.
This particular house I've photographed a few times, once when it was in full bloom like these photos in July and another time in September when it wasn't quite as "bloomful" as this. The front porch is rather plain and I think we all could fill it up with nice things that give people like me something to look at when I walk by, however in this case, I'm satisfied with the plants. The more I look at these pics the more I think that it is best to keep the porch uncluttered - I'm undecided on what I would do to that porch.
The hydrangeas (the color is amazing) down below belong to the house next door and then the view of the Harbor is directly across the street from them.
(I don't think I've posted this house before but if I did it was awhile ago and I can't keep track of everything I post).

ABOUT TIME FOR MORE PHOTOS FROM MY RECENT VACATION
These are just some more pics from Gig Harbor Washington. I had to use an old camera because my favorite camera isn't working well so some of these didn't turn out too good. I love the area and have really only seen the waterfront little town and haven't gotten to get to know more of the surrounding neighborhoods. This is about a half hour from my son's place in Olalla, Washington.
We may go again at the end of March next year if they need us to watch the grandkids while they vacation with friends in Hawaii.
If so, I'll make sure to spend more time in this area.
How is your October going - other than some Santa Ana winds for the last two days it's been really nice. I do hope hurricane season ends soon for those on the East Coast and elsewhere that experience these storms.

BEAUTIFUL GIG HARBOR
Got back yesterday from our Washington state trip to an area not far from Seattle to visit my son's family (about 45 minutes). I had to use an old digital camera I've had for a long time because my favorite one is acting up. Anyway - the photo isn't the most clear but it will do. I love spending time in this area - it's a quaint town with a beautiful harbor. We got there pretty late in the afternoon and the lighting wasn't that good so I had to work with editing it and this is the best I could get and the more I look at it, the more I can't wait to go back and spend more time there.
Our next trip won't be until November and that will be to the central coast (which makes me very happy).
Back home now and I can catch up on some blogs.

NOTE TO SELF - BEGIN TO POST THE PHOTOS YOU HAVE INTENDED TO FOR MONTHS
Talk about procrastinating. I have been intending to post photos for a year - of a few trips we have taken. I have so many photos from the Seattle and south of Seattle area, several little port towns, etc. I'm hoping to create a habit before the end of the year where i will get some of my travel photos posted so I will have them on my blog. I have pretty much lost interest in blogging but I like being able to come to my blogs and be reminded what the year was all about.
My son and his family live in Washington pretty close to Gig Harbor so I know I'll be back to this area. My sister and I will be taking a road trip in May up the coast of California to Bend Oregon and on to Seattle Washington area. I am SO looking forward to seeing Northern California and the redwoods as we travel up the coast.
Anyway, a few photos from Gig Harbor in Washington. I loved walking through this area and could have spent way longer than the few hours i did spend here.
(Laura) i have posted these before on the blog we share but i wanted them here on what i call my main blog - so you will have seen these before).
