CATCHING UP WITH SPRING PICTURES BEFORE SUMMER OFFICIALLY ARRIVES

Summer will officially be here is it the 20th or 21st.  Anyway these photos are during the spring on a drive and also walk through an area called Cottage Grove.

I've posted photos of this area before in different seasons but I think Spring is my favorite here in this area.  No matter where you walk there are always trees to shade you along the way.

MORE OF OAK GLEN

It was enjoyable walking through this area the other day.  The guy with the pony tail in the green shirt is my personal "chef" and I always enjoy his meals.  He's also my husband and once he retired and as his hair was getting longer and longer I finally said "would you put that in a pony tail or just cut it for God sakes, lol" ...So hence, the pony tail.  He kind of fits in up in the mountains.  No urban  or suburban chic for him.

And the photo below the first one - what do you see in that rock?  I know what I see.

The little camera I have cannot do justice to the flowers and trees.  I left a lot of pics out because they weren't good at all.

A VISIT TO THE APPLE FARM IN OAK GLEN

After roaming through a garden of wildflowers we went into a barn which reminded me of how much I use to love to visit these types of shops.  It's been awhile so I had fun taking photos of the "goods" displayed.

I particularly liked the rag dolls and there was one stuffed dog that I couldn't get a decent photo of but it was so cute.

Oak Glen is about 40 minutes away from where we live and it's a destination that if it is on the weekend you want to stay far away.  We went on a Friday and I was surprised that there were hardly any visitors at that time.  Very odd.

The dog I liked is the one with the red bow.

We went into the bakery part of the store where there are tables you can sit.  Surprisingly the bakery goods tasted like what you could pick up off the shelf in the grocery store near the breads  ..no flavor, thick tasteless bread and a waste of money.

But ..The air was cool, the breeze was slight and welcoming  and we had a good walk around an area they call the Artists Palette - filled with flowers and shrubs that were blooming which I will post next.

I've been busy with my sister's visit and thoroughly enjoyed the time we had to spend doing fun things and I wish she could have stayed longer.

A COUPLE WEEKS AGO WE HAD A LATE SNOW

I posted a few pics in a prior post and these are the rest of them.  I always love  seeing SkyPark (The old Santa's Village) in Sky Forest during all four seasons.  We went down into the parking lot so I could get some close up pics of the building which I love.  They have lots of things to do there  for kids and adults.  Recently they opened a many acre bike path that other than winter is open all year long.

Sky Park use to be Santa's Village and I believe it opened about the same time Disneyland did years ago.  It then sat vacant for several years and reopened as Sky Park a few years ago.  We left this area and then drove to a neighborhood I like to drive through in Sky Forest.
