A NICE WALK ALONG BIG BEAR LAKE SHORELINE YESTERDAY

And as we like to do - we found a way to get to a private shoreline and up through a private street and locked gate.

During more trips to Big Bear we will find other ways to see a different vantage point of Big Bear Lake even if it is behind locked gates.  The shoreline on the opposite side of where we usually go is a way to do it and then up through a private road.  It was beautiful, perfect weather and so nice to be up there.  The lake wasn't too crowded at the far end but a lot of people were fishing on the shorelines as you first come into town. 

Boulder Bay was totally filled with people so even though that's a usual stop we thought better and kept on going.

MISSING THE WALKING TRAILS I USE TO GO ON - BEYOND THE FENCE

Appreciating what I had then and appreciating what I have now.  All of nature - I appreciate it.  Back then you could park anywhere on any street around where I lived and simply walk out into the foothills and trails.  Now, you have to "reserve" a  parking space to park and get out and walk the foothills.  What we do is go to a street next to a wash/gulley and park there free and walk out.  I still like visiting the old areas and walking through my memories.

I'VE BEEN VISITING AND WALKING THROUGH THIS TOWN FOR ....PROBABLY AT LEAST 30 plus YEARS

At least over the last 10 years whoever lives here has added more and more to her yard art.

This is Claremont, a town which I love and can only dream of living in.  We use to bring the grandkids here often to play at the park. 

It's a town I never get tired of walking through - a University town with a great vibe~~!

And the highlight of the walk was her zebra painted rock~

YESTERDAY'S WALK NEAR THE "FLAMINGO" HOUSE AGAIN

This time from the UCLA conference center end of the Lake Arrowhead shoreline.  I love this house and took more photos than I did last time when my sister was with me and we passed this place.   The pots are so cute and all the flamingos - you would think they are living in Florida however, I noticed another house on Rim Hwy that put out a lot of flamingos this year.  I had never seen these yard ornaments in the mountains before.  The bottom pic is the view they have from inside the house outside to the lake.  Wouldn't mind having my own boat docked right there.  One can dream.

A really windy day and what made it so beautiful was the way the water had little whitecaps and lapping along the shoreline- or were they clapping because the lake is so full and beautiful.

Another weekend is upon us - more choices to come on where to walk.  Hope your weekend is great.

We walked the shoreline again yesterday, the one we did with you and Hannah.  It was a beautiful day and made me wish you were still here to go out walking or hiking with us.

I came across this flower below and I had never to my knowledge seen one like it.  The little blooms are about the size of a thumb tip.  You know me I can get obsessed so after several attempts at googling and trying to find out the name I came up with nothing.  Oh well..

We took some of those long stairs I showed you at one point and walked on the road up above and then back down and through the mobile home park that we didn't walk through when you were here.  It gives another view of the bridge you walked across that day you were here. 

So knowing that for the next few weeks you will be taxi-ing Hannah to her class I am thinking you might get out and take long walks after dropping her off.  Is that a possibility?  How's your weather.
