We went back to Big Bear lake yesterday and found some different areas to walk - but we still eventually ended up at the footbridge. I was surprised how quickly the water is drying up and can only hope that in winter there will be enough snow and rain in the spring to fill Stanfield Marsh up again.
The pelicans were still there and I had fun (from very far away) photographing these two guys who were out enjoying the pelicans.
The white structure on the shoreline is Big Bear Solar Observatory.

We also found a different part of the lake to enjoy the views and we hadn't walked this area before. Next time we go up which will be soon - I'll have some other areas mapped out in my mind to go see.

I would love to walk on that boardwalk/foot bridge there. Such a pretty area with beautiful houses. Great shots of the lake. I really like the photo of the black birds on the white stones too--such an artistic and unique view.

ReplyDeleteVery beautiful walk there and you found even more places to walk! I am always excited when I find somewhere new I didn't know about. Those birds...uh, are they vultures? It's a good angle for the photographer, but I always feel creeped out by vultures. lol. I hope we all get plenty of rain this winter since it's been so nice to have our lakes back and healthy looking trees!

thanks all - and the levels are getting lower but that happens in summer. Laura - they are blackbirds - it must be the perspective for you to think it's vultures, lol. Vultures - poor birds - they get a bad rap. lol I just read in an extended weather thing that rain is in our future and low levels of snow - but our September - will be more monsoonal because August didn't bring as much monsoon levels.
