This is our 7th Fall and just ahead winter season for us. Every season brings beautiful scenery traveling up and down the hwy to go down to do our monthly shopping at the bigger Box stores than we have here and and then coming back up to our house.
Yesterday we had to go down the mountain and even though at the bottom of the mountain it is dry and dusty looking on the foothills, ...at about 3000 ft altitude it starts looking really more seasonal - lots of rust and greens and various shades of brown which looked so pretty yesterday.
This is the progression of the ride up the mountain to come home. That cabin in the last photo isn't ours - just one we pass coming up the road to our place.

I love the colors along the way! This time of year is a hopeful time of year with knowing the colors are coming, the temperature is cooling, the nights are more comfortable and it always feels like a time to slow down and appreciate the changes in the scenery. I love those photos!!
