BIG BEAR LAKE IS WAY DOWN THIS YEAR

For the first time ever, I was able to walk on the other side of Boulder Bay because of how much shoreline is present now.  I realized with a little more melt of the snow i could have walked the shoreline to the opposite side of the lake.

These are from March when i was last up there.  Hoping for another trip around Wednesday or Thursday to see if any wildflowers are blooming.

I've never been able to get close to those big rock formations of the cabins.  Finally I was able to walk right by them.  Next time I should be able to walk on the shore all the way to the other side of the lake way in the background.  Everything will be melted by now.

FOUND THESE IN MY PHOTO FILES

Sometimes < ...well a lot...I'll save off photos that I find that speak to me.  I guess these did years ago because I found them again and still like them.  I love everything about that cabin, and that room.  I don't remember where I saw them.  It might have been a listing I came across for this cabin for sale.

I see so many huge mansion type houses or cabins in Lake Arrowhead and around the mountains and I always wonder who would want all that room.  Most of the time when I walk by the ones on the shorelines they seem vacant, like maybe either being using by a Corporation for a perk for their employees to have a vacation or rented out for Air B&B's.  Or..they are just a second home for some celebrity who wants a second, third or fourth home.

This would be my perfect cabin.  And that area in back would definitely be used for a garden.

YESTERDAY AT OUR LITTLE LOCAL LAKE

Beautiful warm day late afternoon as the south side of the lake was lit with more pre sunset colors.  I kept an eye open for even the smallest little wildflowers that might be blooming.  I actually saw these purple ones that have really tiny blooms.  They were almost hidden because they were so small and unless the light was on them I would have passed them by.

Also took advantage and photographing a few guys fishing as i find these scenes so peaceful.

Tree trunks are a favorite of mine to photograph if I find faces in them.  This guy on top looks like he exists only to give the birds a place to next in his mouth...yeah that's weird...  But that's what a I see.

I found the name of the "miniature lupine" which is Lupinus Bicolor.  Each petal is about the size of a toddler's little fingertip so i was happy to get some photos.  I'll go out later today for more blooming hopefully.

Another thing happening is I see more and more little doorways in trees.  I think it's probably squirrels who chip away at the bark and make little homes for themselves .

ANOTHER OUTING OVER TO LAKE ARROWHEAD

I feel I'm lucky to have found a way into the trails that are "private' and only for those who can afford multi-million dollar houses.  I actually wouldn't want a house as big as I see over there but I would like just a little dock house.  That would be enough for me.  And, yes, a boat would do.

The Queen of the Lake was out taking passengers around the shorelines.  We've never done that and I'm actually not willing to pay to take a ride around the same areas I can walk.  lol.  At this altitude it takes awhile for the daffodils to grow whereas down in the valley i believe they bloom in January or February.  Saw these beauties along the trail.

OVER TO CORRAL NURSERY AND THEN DOWN THE MOUNTAIN

This time of year I stop in at the Corral - a nursery in Rim Forest.  They begin to get their spring plants out.  The Corral shop inside is filled with really unique one of a kind gifts for the house and garden .  I really love browsing in there although I don't buy things anymore.  I already sold a house years ago and got rid of so much that I don't want to have to do that again.

After the trip then we made a trip down the mountain over to our son's house and as the fog was lifting somewhat the lighting was beautiful on the hwy.
