BEAUTIFUL HOME IN SHELL BEACH, CALIFORNIA

It's been awhile since I've been up at the central coast.  Last time was October 2023.  One of my favorite places to hang out, which I did quite a bit was at Shell Beach.  The houses in the neighborhoods by the coast are usually really interesting to look at.  I don't think i've posted this before but if so, it's worthy of another look, lol.

One of these days I'll be walking through these neighborhoods again which means I'll also be visiting my niece who lives in Pismo.  I miss our visits since my sister passed....geez it's now been almost 3 years.   The thing about getting older is HOW FAST time goes by anymore.

SOME PHOTOS FROM THE END OF AUGUST

Just catching up here on my blog to post the few photos I took in August.  The weather is cooling down now and I hope to be back to my love of getting out to the various lakes and walking for exercise.   We had a lot of humidity in August and thankfully, at least in the mountains the long range weather looks cool.

Here's some photos taken over at our lake at the end of August..  I can't wait for fall to start showing up.  We do have a bit of color here.  It's the fall colors that really inspire me to start taking photos.

After Labor day the lake area for swimming was closed but boating still remains open until some time in winter when once snow falls no one will be out in their boats.

We had a very very big bear a few nights ago trying to get into our trash barrels.  I was downstairs which is a good thing.  When Mike told me about it I thought, darn, I wish I had been upstairs with my camera.   Not such a good idea.  Anyway, he told the bear to get moving and then shut the door.  The bear then traveled down the road and on our little local FB group with the neighbors just around here showed that some of them saw him. That's only the third time we have had one in our yard or next door.

How's September going for you so far?  Hope all is well.

BEFORE AUTUMN GETS HERE AND THE COLORS START CHANGING ON THE TREES

Putting up a few photos I've taken over the last several weeks.  Summer isn't my favorite season but neither is winter.  I'm not complaining...well kind of... because I don't know about you but the UV index of the sun is so high even if it's just an 80 degree day when you are in the sun it feels a lot hotter.  We reached into the 90's this summer with humidity.  I felt like I was in Kansas again as a kid.

This is our local lake which is about four or five blocks down the hill where we live.  We can hear every noise during the summer from the Air B&Bs to the bars we have in town with their music.  The swimming part of the lake is open from Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend and then after that, just stays open a few weekends after that.  The fishing and boating can go on up until the snow falls.

So this weekend, hurray~~or not....There will be crowds of people, no parking left anywhere for the swimming area  and on Monday an Anti Trump rally.  There are many scheduled in So Cal because there was an article on Social Media stating the 123 areas in California where protests will be held.  Our town was listed and is very small.  I have no idea what this is going to sound or look like.   Left or Right or inbetween there is no way in today's world I would attend a protest.

So hope you all have a nice Labor Day Weekend.  I will be doing yard work, playing Rummicube, feeding birds, squirrels, raccoons and whatever else shows up for their snacks.  My food bill for the ferals is getting quite high every month, between the suet, peanuts, black oil sunflower seeds, and various other foods like peanut butter on toast that the Ravens love.

AGAPANTHUS

We passed these plants one day while shopping down the hill.

I had to get their photos.   I would see this type of plant often but
never knew its' name.

PUTTING UP PHOTOS FROM OAK GLEN

Made a trip to Oak Glen awhile back  - another mountain area but about an hour away from us.   I've been meaning to post these so I have them on my blog as a memory.

We will make another trip in fall to enjoy the fall colors.  This area gets a lot of tourists so its' best to go during the week especially during apple season.

Things are going well here - lots of time spent with our new granddaughter, now 8 months old.  Our July was a beautiful month weather wise and we had lots of yard work to get done which we still will be working in some areas.

I really don't have much to write about....I guess that's why I don't blog much anymore.

Hard to believe that we are halfway to September already.

So that's all I have to talk about.
