Several years ago I took this while visiting the central coast and the small town of Cambria which is near San Simeon - on the coast. They dress up the whole town with scarecrows. I wouldn't mind visiting there again on my trip in November
Tomorrow, typically we would go to Big Bear for their halloween celebration - but with the winds and such - not sure if it wil be happening.
Here's one of the scarecrows from Cambria. He looks like a nice guy.

Hoy nos brinda un simpática imagen, que parece saludar al que pasa.
ReplyDeleteHace tiempo que no veo espantapájaros.
Besos
Were you here in October or were the scarecrows still hanging around in November? I haven't been to Cambria for way over a year, so, yeah, we should do that! The scarecrows are always very welcoming!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, this photograph is gorgeous with all those flowers and backlit leaves!
ReplyDeletethis seems like it would have been in october. not sure -have to check the date on these.
ReplyDeleteI love scarecrows, he does look swish!
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of places here in the UK that have scarecrow festivals but I've never been to one yet. The biggest is in Kettlewell & there are bus trips to it every summer. http://www.kettlewellscarecrowfestival.co.uk/gallery.php
Maybe I'll get there next year & get some photos.
thanks for the link Winifred, i'll check it out. yes hope you get photos. i'll post more when i find the file. this was one i had put in a different file awhile back one that has nothing to do with the original photos
ReplyDeleteThis particular scarecrow is very elegant and stylish. It looks that tomorrow you would have a great time at Big Bear. I didn't do something special for Halloween this year.
ReplyDeleteHi Kaya - ...yes he is elegant. I think we've opted to forego Halloween in Big Bear and instead go down the mountain to REdlands and get some shopping done, a good walk in, where it will be warmer ..and beautiful to walk through the neighborhoods there and then back home. Big Bear will be cold - not into that yet. It's cold enough here.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous scarecrow...he looks much too kind and gentle to scare away any crows though!😉
ReplyDeleteI certainly wouldn't mind having him on my doorstep! 😊😊
Happy Halloween 🎃🍁🕸 xxx
haha, your comment gave me a laugh Ygraine - he does seem like a handsome kind guy.
