BEAUTIFUL BIG BEAR FOR HALLOWEEN

We went up to Big Bear for a couple of hours and saw such beautiful colors and costumes.  I took so many photos I'm dividing them up - i put some on my art blog.  A lot of photos were when we first got there and it really hadn't started yet as we arrived at 4:00 and it was open for trick or treating from
5:00 TO 7:00.

Two streets were open for the businesses to give out candy.  They had a dog costume contest which was fun to see.

CONTINUING THE SHORELINE WALK AT LAKE ARROWHEAD

For most of the walk around the path - I felt like it was such a magical place.  And to think - People can just walk out of the back of their houses and have this beauty to walk every day.

I would LOVE to see this after the snow falls. I will get my snow boots on and head out.  I do plan on getting over there after it snows at some point to see what it looks like with threes and houses rooftops covered in snow.

During a lot of the walk we cross over beautiful pathways.  As far as snow goes - I will have to wait until it starts melting because so much of this is dirt and I doubt (although I could be wrong) that they will be plowed so one can walk - but since it is a private association over here maybe they do keep it cleaned off.

MORE PHOTOS FROM LAKE ARROWHEAD SHORE LINE WALK

I'm looking forward to  more walks along the shoreline which may or may not happen tomorrow.  The wind has kicked up just a bit here and I don't know if it will be heavy by tomorrow.

If my fantasy ever came into being - I would have a house here in Lake Arrowhead and one at the coast.  I'm not asking for much, lol.

WALKING THE SHORELINE AT LAKE ARROWHEAD

We recently discovered that we can actually get down to parts of the shoreline at Lake Arrowhead.  It's a private lake and to use the lake for boating or swimming you have to have a membership, unlike our Lake Gregory and Big Bear Lake that are public access all the way.

Yesterday we found a way to get to a certain part of the shoreline and had a nice walk.  Today, we found another area to get to the shoreline and we're so glad to have found it.

Any photos that I have taken of Lake Arrowhead in the past were always from the village area that has walkways for a small part of the lake separated by rod iron fencing.  I usually use my zoom to get close ups of the lake mansions.

..so here are some real close ups of what it must feel like to live in these private areas along the lake.

LAKE ARROWHEAD

We went over to the lake to shop at Staters yesterday and we parked the car on the upper level and then walked down to the lake level and for a walk along the water.  The colors were beautiful and I'm really going to miss the perfect weather we are having once winter comes.

After we walked back up to where Stater Brothers is I took a few shots looking down.

Some of the trees we have that produce the amazing colors are maples, sour woods and sweet gums and of course all the wild Mountain Dogwood trees put on quite a display also and of course aspens, birches, etc.  I think we are probably at the peak of the colors and they will be carpeting the ground soon. Where the trees are most amazing are along the mountain roads growing wild.
